Halifax Public Libraries Central Library Fundraiser Bookplate
As you may have noticed, Central Library is raising funds (Share the Wow!) and an important part of the campaign is increasing its collections. Although the Library always budgets for purchasing new materials when a new Library is opening, we want to do more.
An increased collection means everyone in Halifax benefits as more copies circulate through the system, from Hubbards to Sheet Harbour. It lessens waiting time for the hotnew items as more copies of popular titles are purchased. "Well loved books" are replaced and new editions bought.
The $25 Bookplate donation places a focus on a very important part of a Library's purpose: giving people access to knowledge, whether in the form of an account of facts or a story of joy. The Bookplate allows many people to take part in the campaign for the betterment of Central Library and thereby their community. It is another wow factor for the library. People will see each other's contribution as they open books to read and see the special Bookplate.
